"Save The Food": New national public service campaign
Forget farm-to-table. 40% of our food follows a farm-to-landfill model. This video - by the creators of Smokey the Bear (Ad Council) and the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) - shows the journey of a strawberry from the farm to the refrigerator to the garbarge, highlighting the resources that it takes to bring food to consumers. Spoiler Alert CEO speaks at Ocean State Job Lot event
Our CEO Ricky Ashenfelter was invited to speak at the Ocean State Job Lot send-off event to promote their “Three Square Meals” hunger relief program to alleviate the problem of food insecurity throughout the Northeast.
The program will distribute over 100 tractor trailer loads of food throughout the year to 15 food banks, which will redistribute to thousands of pantries, kitchens, and meal insecurity sites across six New England states, New York, and New Jersey. Read more here
